Yes I am calling this Strat a Prototype as it turned out to be used as the bases of the Fender Strat Plus line and it is one of the 1st made with the all new Gold Lace Sensor Pickups, with the Locking Tuners and DBX Boast and the Wilknsen Metal Nut. Yes Only the Body and Pickguard are what remains from the Strat.. Fender Built a Strat for Jeff. to Used it on his European Tour, and Jeff said this Blue Custom Built to his specs Stratocaster..... was the only Strat that could produce the Tones and Harmonics for the songs on his Garage Shop Album... Live....
Jeff was told by Fender at the time, that this COLOR BLUE is Reserved to Jeff Only. To be used on a Jeff Beck Signature Strat is He (Jeff) gave the OK. Which at the time gave back the Strat after Jeff Toured With It, played all on tour, but as it turned out. Jeff said No to the whole deal, and later changed his mind. Jeff never gave the OK for any Blue Artist Strat with his name on it. Fender said if he changed his mind, the color will never be used for any other Fender Guitar...So the Color is 1 of 1.
The Garage Shop Album Cover is a painting from a Artist.. not a Photo Of This Blue Strat pasted on the front cover so to say.say. In person there is wear and fading from being played by Jeff.

I want to say 1st, Jeff Beck sudden passing is a lost for the whole world, not just the music community or guitar players around the globe as he was a stand up guy and no one was as good as he was and always will be in that of a 1 of 1 Great Guitar player. Yes there are other Great guitar players out there.. but Jeff could play and sound just as good as these Artist we all know and grew up listing to.. But name another Artist that could play note for note and sound like Jeff Beck.. Think on that one.
I'm about to whip some Fender History on ya, never been told before. Right off the top, The Blue Strat Body and a Pickguard is the only items on this whole Strat that Jeff used, toured with and gave back to Fender as Jeff didn't want to do a Signature Model Fender Stratocaster with his name on it, but later changed his mind. This Body really is one of the 1st Strat Plus guitar Fender made. As Jeff gave back this Strat to Fender and Fender R&D was trying to come up with a model to be called the Strat Plus.. then relized.. This Blue built for Jeff Beck by Fender Stratocaster was the ticket. Clapton,Beck 1st Artist Models are really a Strat plus Body/Neck/Pickups but Eric had different size neck, Color of the finish...TBX.. Etc You get my point. Jeff was told this shade of Blue will never be used on a Fender Guitar Model again unless he decides to go with this color and one of his Signature Strat.. Which he never did, and you never seen him playing a Blue Guitar..I don't know the color name. Blue is Blue to me..
So I basically bought a near mint 1989 JB Signature Strat, and used this Body. Remember the Garage Shop Center and Album cover was painted by a Artist... All you see in the 1st picture will be included, plus not in the photo is the hand made by the Custom Shop Pickguard and many more photos and more facts and write up to come.. I have had this for a few years and time to pass it on to the next.. that wants a piece of History...
