*** ON HOLD*** 1969 Gretsch 6103 Streamliner
Killer Super 'Tron pickups. Excellent value in a vintage Gretsch. The 6103 Streamliner model was actually a reamed "Monkees" 6123 model, which was never a big seller and considering the short shelf life of the Monkees band, its days were numbers by the time they hit the stores. It was a great opportunity for Gretsch, a highly rated show with at least one song a week with their guitars prominently displayed during a "performance" feature by teen idols. Regardless, the show failed; the guitar failed and after a run from '66 to '69, the Monkees model was shelved, only to be replaced in '69 by the 6103 (cherry) and 6102 (sunburst), which ran until '75 and '73, respectively. Because of its cherry finish, the 6103 most closely resembles the 6123, although with a few minor differences: the Monkees 6123 featured neo-classic inlays on both bass and the treble sides, while the Streamliner had them on the bass side only, "T-zone" tempered treble end fingerboard (with dot inlays)- plus the Streamliner moved the tone and the pickup switches to the upper bass bout while the 6123 had all of its controls grouped on the treble side, lower bout. Other than those minor differences; same guitar. Features of the Streamliner include 16 inch double cutaway laminated maple hollowbody, 2" body depth, two Super 'Tron pickups, "G" tailpiece, engraved model plate on headstock, rosewood fretboard, 24.5" scale, controls are master volume, neck and bridge pickup volume, pickup selector switches, and a tone switch. Cosmetically this guitar is in well used condition. Knobs are non-original, pickguard is missing, bridge and tuners are non-original, and there are two worn spots on the back look to have been touched up , but otherwise appears to be all original finish. The good news is this is a solid player with no loose braces, cracks or repairs.
While discolored, the binding is completely intact, which is uncommon for this era where it's frequently missing chunks of bracing on the body and neck.This is for the player, for whom cosmetics are secondary to structural integrity, tone, and price. For a 48+ year-old American dual cutaway, dual pickup hollowbody that's a good player.

This will Blow Away Any $2500 new Gretsch in Tone & Vibe! The Axe was played it's whole life, this is earned wear. It Plays Great, Fat Chunky Neck. The changed bridge and tuners, make it a Better Guitar.. It's a Great one folks*
