Joe Bonamassa & 1959 Gibson Les Paul Demo 10-25-2011 I'm in AWWWW
Last night I went and seen Joe Bonamassa in concert.. I am 49 now. Joe is younger.. I was born in Ilion NY and lived there for 36 years.( except Army 3 years) Joe is from Utica NY.. 8 miles from me. When I guess I was in 20's I hear this kid 12 year old Joe on the radio, in newspapers, playing little venues, block party's. ( I use to party then.....) I go look at this "Kid" back then 12 year old were never that good. Now days with internet and Youtube they are all over!
Then his father Lenny opened a vintage music shop in Utica NY, Bank St Music .....I go in there see the Vintage..We all got stories of having this Vintage stuff, but it was just stuff then.
I remember selling my full Marshall stack to Joe as I was a drunk then.....and he goes I know what your going to do with money and it's dead end brother... (Yes I'm clean now....)
But he never like hung out with me, but I see him in the bars back then and we talk Vintage and he always goes how you know all this... (I bought, trade, wheel n deal back in my youth.. read every magazine, remember the mag circus) ...I seen bands all over NY many nights a week. He be in bars to see the band, and not drinking..my friends and women I was with thought I was gay because I just stare at the guitar player..LOL.....But back in the day NY had unreal bar bands, and great guitar players.. But Joe made it.... So I feel like I know him personally... BUT he is just like me, and my take on Playing THE REAL Deal Live.. He maned up, took his Real 300k+ 1959 Burst out, and listen to it.. This is with my I Phone.. But That Bell Tone took me places in my heart and soul that I will Never forget...
I hate when pro players, record with a 1963 Pre CBS Strat.. then play live with custom shop.. Sorry You cheated me out of Tone!!!!! You did.. and that @^%*(*&$ me off..

To me that guitar was another player on stage with Joe.. and that Tone was from a past I grew up with.. listen to.....parting to..... and going threw life with.....
