1960 5-60 ORIG FENDER STRATOCASTER SLABOARD NECK
*WOW* Here is a Winner. First let me Start by this is probably my best slaboard Neck I ever had for precise dead on intonation, and ease of String Bending!
This neck is 100% original finish, I was first to ever take tuners off, no extra holes etc. It does have a Pro re fret with slightly taller fret wire and a compound radius. It is 7-14" at nut, 10" @ 12th fret, then 12" radius towards heel. Basically about the same as Stevie Ray Vaughn had on his #1 Strat. Ya ya Stevie had Big frets, But I don't like Big frets. It's like a D cord never seems to be in tune as darn frets are to big. Also them PRE CBS Strat's are really not made for big frets. The fret job is perfect, perfect in every way.
Neck is on thin side, Full C Shape at nut. Measures 19.73mm @ 1st fret
23.91mm @ 12th fret. Getting chunky as it goes down. All the frets are in rosewood, I say again, Perfect Neck now. Now I played this as my own for some time. It was just Fun to play a Great Neck.
You get orig string tree and neck bushings. This is same as a 1959 1st year Slab. The Strat had late 59 pots, and north magnet pickups. As in later 59 Fender switched to south magnets in pickups.
The Brazilian Rosewood is smooth and no divits or wear marks. It's like it should be in a museum of Great'ness! Well it is, MY SHOP!
